The Light at the End of the Tunnel
I can finally see it! The light at the end of the tunnel is visible! We only have 13 more days of school left,. and after that, my brain will hibernate for about two and a half months. Just thinking about it makes me excited! With this, though, comes all of the finals packets, and eventually, the exams. Still, it'll all be worth it when the bell rings at 2:09 on May 31st. I wish everybody an exciting summer, and I'll see you in the fall!
A Night on Broadway
Last night, our Theatre Troupe had our annual banquet, and the theme was "BROADWAY." I got inducted, so I am not officially a member of Theatre Troupe 2536. One of my favorite parts of the banquet was..i know its unladylike...but it was definitely the food. The banquet itself wasn't bad though. It was probably the last time that I will ever see most of the seniors, and they're some of my best friends. We all got a little emotional towards the end for this reason, but we all ended on a good note. This year has been an amazing season for all of us, and I can't wait to start up again in the fall.
Off to DANCE
So prom was last weekend..woohoo for us freshmen. While everybody was off at prom, my friend and I just stayed home and baked...yes, baked. My sister went to prom, though, and she looked amazing! I actually picked out her dress! She had SATs in the morning, so she was pressed for time when she had to get ready for prom, but luckily, she was on time. Just seeing her go makes me want to go even more next year...I better start looking for a senior date!

Prom 2012(:
Obviously I cannot go to prom this year, but my sister is! One of her close friends asked her, so why not go? We went and bought her prom dress last weekend (shh, what it looks like is a secret;)) but she had to get it altered. We actually just picked up the gown today, and it's gorgeous! I'm so excited for her(: Unfortunately, she accidentally signed up for the SATs on the day of prom, and the test is about 5 hours in the morning! So she's going to be in a bit of a rush to get ready, but it'll all pay off in the end. My friend and I are going to help her get ready, so she should be fine(: She's going to be absolutely stunning, and I can't wait to see how pretty everybody in her group is going to look. I'll be taking pictures of EVERYTHING(: I know she'll have fun! ~PROM 2012~
Driver's Ed
My friend and I just signed up for summer school together this summer, and after about 15 years of being driven around by people, I'm pumped for my licence! We're getting our permits this summer, so technically, by the winter time I could have my license...kind of a scary thought(: I feel like I've waited for this time for ever, and it's not that I'm in a rush for my license, but I jut want to be able to have it when I need it. I feel like yesterday I just learned how to ride a bike, and now I'm going to be learning how to drive a car? Wow, that's crazy...the years really do go by fast. In only a couple of years, I'm going to be able to vote, and then my childhood is practically gone:/ Well, one thing that I can say is that I had fun while it lasted, and I have no regrets.(:
Freshy Shows! (:
This week is going to be really busy for me...why? Because the freshman shows are this week! I'm acting in them! I play the role of Heather(: I know that some people think that acting is dorky or weird or whatever, but I don't care, it's fun for me. We perform on Wednesday and Thursday night! Considering we've only had a couple of weeks to practice, they should be interesting to watch haha. It'll be fun, and I wish everybody in the shows good luck!

Crazy Kids (:
Right now it is 2:56 on a Friday night...what am I doing? Watching YouTube videos, eating pudding, and taking stupid pictures with my sister...because we're cool like that(: Everybody else is probably out partying and having a good time, but who says you can't have a good time at home? It's these nights that I will always remember because once she goes off to college, I'm really going to miss her:/ I love you Toya(:
YOLO?
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like people overuse the phrase "YOLO." Yes, everybody knows why you only live once, but that doesn't give you an excuse for acting dumb and making stupid choices. Next time you want to use it, use it to say that you should take risks, but to a certain extant. Make sure you always have fun, but don't get stupid about it.
Almost Summer!
Thinking back, this year has really gone by fast. Sure there were those weeks that seemed to drag forever, but overall, it seems like I didn't even have a freshman year and it's crazy to think that next year I'll be a sophomore! Just the other day I was looking through pictures, and I found this one and it made me realize how much I miss this beach. This summer is going to be...words cannot even describe it.(:

We're Crazy(:
I find it kind of weird that the day we got off for Spring Break, the temperature dropped...no more 80s. But this past Wednesday, the weather was actually pretty nice! It was 70 and sunny, perfect shopping weather(: Hahah but my sister and I decided to curl our hair and go all out because it was so nice out...yeah, we're crazy! I love her(:
PUT THE PHONE DOWN!
So my sister doesn't have her licence yet, but she's getting it in probably a couple of weeks. That's such a scary thought because just the other day, she went driving with my parents, and she was TEXTING! Yup, you guys can see in the picture, that's my proof. It was a red light, so she whipped her phone out...shortly after it turned green, and the car behind her thought she was moving, so it rammed into her car. She put the phone down, and looked at the damage from her mirror, and her only thought was that she hoped nobody got hurt. I'm just kidding! April Fools! I know its a horrible thing to joke about, but hey, on April Fools, there is no limits(: And just to let you know, she really wasn't texting and driving...I took this picture when she parked and we were getting ready to get out of the car!
It's All Over
I seriously cannot believe that Spring Break is already over! The week went by so fast, its unbelievable...but I guess time flies when you're having fun! I didn't go anywhere on vacation or anything, but I mostly just hung out with friends and family around town. My friend and I were in a baking mood, so one night we made a cake and cookies, and the next we made a homemade pizza (we even made all the dough!) I know what your thinking...why were we baking on break instead of going to parties and bonfires? Well, it was because we're still kids, and we wanna have fun too, and for us, fun at the time was to bake(: I don't care what anybody says, but I have no regrets from this break.

March Madness?
I have to admit...I'm a little confused about this whole March Madness deal hahah yes, I know that it is a College Basketball tournament and everything, but to me, it just seems like regular basketball games. People get all excited about filling out these brackets, and the only conversations that I hear at school now seem to be about 'what games won last night' and 'if I'm winning my bracket'...if it makes others happy, that's great! hahah but for me, I don't understand why it is so important! I better learn fast, though, because it will probably be the most talked about topic throughout March...oh gosh haha but to all of you competing with your brackets, I wish you guys the best of luck(:
Sincerely,
A Confused Sports Follower

Spring Break 2012
Yes, Spring Break is finally coming in about five school days! If feels like it was yesterday when people said it was 20 away haha but that means that this Friday is when The Hunger Games come out! WWWWHHHHHOOOOAAAAA! I am so excited, nobody even understands hahha so that will be the first thing to do on my agenda for Spring Break. I don't have any solid plans yet, but as we get closer, I'm sure things will come up(: Hope you guys have an amazing break!
Where's Spring?
This past week has been absolutely gorgeous! We basically just skipped right over spring and straight into summer! Looks like that time change made a big difference! The temperature has been about 75 degrees with just the right amount of sun and breeze(: My sister and I have not had a lot of time on school nights to go outside and enjoy the weather, so this morning, we finally did! We just sat around in our backyard for about two hours hahah yeah, we did a little homework outside, but mostly we just wanted to bask in the sun(: hope you're doing the same!

Show Night
Saturday night, my sister, my mom, and I decided to go and see Lake Central's musical: Annie(: It was a really good show! They all worked so hard, and I recommend that anybody having a lazy night go out and support the Theater Troupe....like I said, my sister was there with me, and we missed parts of the show because we were laughing over something that I can't even remember now, that's how stupid it was hahah but I can honestly say that she is one of my best friends. I love her to death(:
Silly Saturday
Saturday was...interesting haha two of my closest friends decided to pop in...for "homework"...well, we started off doing homework, but then we realized that it was Saturday and had better things to be doing...so we ended up just laughing for about two hours straight...love them both(: I can always count on them for making my day.
Just a Little Crazy(:
This has been one of the best weekends in a while! To start it off, I went to the mall on Friday with my best friends...we've only known each other for a couple of years now, but it doesn't seem like that when we're having fun..she's always there for me, and there is never a dull moment! We're crazy, yes, but that's what makes us...US(: As for my sister, well, she's always laughing, and it makes me happy! I love both of you guys(:

The END of Me
Yup, it's that time of year again: term paper time. We've been working on ours for a couple of weeks now, but the reality that my outline is due tomorrow just sunk in. In addition, I'm pretty sure that we are one of the only English classes that had to read a book, research, then write the paper based on the book. Every other class just had to research. So basically, we had to do an extra step, which, you know, is always lovely. Well, enough blogging for me...this outline is obviously not going to write itself... ):
Channing Tatum in The Vow...(:
Like I said in my last blog, I finally saw The Vow in theaters on Friday, and I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. The plot was very romantic, and I just about cried at some parts! But I feel like the ending could have been different. However, I still learned something from the movie: that I truly want to marry a man like Channing Tatum. This is, of course, is partly because of (for lack of better words) his good looks, but most importantly because he cared so deeply about his wife in the movie. Even at their weakest points, he never left her side, but rather tried to help her recover. Yes, the plot was a little repetitive, but I rate it as a MUST SEE because you will never understand the true beauty of romance until you do.
Four Days of ZZZZs
We finally had a four day weekend...and let me tell you...I caught up on my sleep! My sister and I finally got to see "The Vow" with our friends, and then on Saturday we all went to the mall. We just hung out with friends and had a good time, so overall, I would say it was a productive weekend(:

The Yellow Bundle
These bananas are just beginning to ripen as the green coloring starts to fade. The Morales family ripped several of them off of the bundle this morning to add a source of potassium to their breakfast.
Warm of the Cheetah
The cheetah-patterned blanket acts as an extra layer as it lies on top of Lake Central junior Victoria Morales's bed. On the chilly night of December 21, Victoria snuggled up with this blanket as she fell asleep on her couch.
SMACK!
Lake Central junior Victoria Morales jumps in her backyard as she practices volleyball. On Saturday, February 4, 2012, Victoria made an enormous "SMACK" when she overhanded the ball.

Underwater!
So I was just looking up random pictures on Google, and I came across this one. I don't know why, but I really love any pictures of aquatic life...maybe it's because they're all so lively and full of a variety of colors...whatever it is, they fascinate me every time! If you really look at it, it makes you realize how beautiful our planet really is(: Let me know what you think of this picture!
4 Day Week
I don't know about anybody else, but I absolutely LOVE four day weeks...which means that we have a four day weekend also! I'm so excited, although I don't have much planned for the break. I'm sure something will come up; it always does. Anyways, I'll just be happy to spend the time with my family and friends...it feels like it's been forever since I've had free-time! The break is definitely well-needed. I hope you enjoy yours!
Day of Love
Yes, it's that time of year again. The day where every girl desperately waits for an unexpected bouquet of roses or chocolates from a secret admirer is coming up this Tuesday. Personally, I think Valentine's Day is hyped up to more than what it should be...all it is is a day for couples to celebrate their love. Right now I'm riding solo...so this year my Valentine will be my boyfriend that I have yet to find.(:

What is Life?
My sister always talks about how life is a funny idea. She says that the idea of being locked in a school all day is like they are forcing you to make friends. She says that when she is most stressed out about a lab in AP Chem class, she thinks about how one day in life, the lab won't matter, and all of that stress will be lost. Still, she always tries her best. She always says to laugh about things in life because you should make your life what you want it to be. I never really understood what she was talking about, but the more I think about it, the more I get it. It turns out that my sister is actually not stupid, but very wise. She takes in everything for what it's worth, and I know that everybody could learn something from her.
Sick of Being Sick
Yup, home sick today. Ugh, I hate it...I feel like everyday that I miss school, I'm missing out on some huge secret that goes around the school. It's not that I'm complaining about sleeping in or anything, it's just that you get bored at home because everybody's at school. To top it off, you still have to make up all of the work and homework that you missed when you were absent. Lovely. Well, hopefully I'll be back at school tomorrow...hopefully.
State at Huntington!
This past weekend, our Theatre Troupe went to Huntington University in Indianapolis for a competition called "State." We left after fifth hour on Friday and didn't get back to Laken Central until around four on Sunday afternoon. We didn't compete for anything as a group, but my sister and I did "Group Acting" along with one of our friends. Overall, the weekend was pretty fun! I got to spend a lot of time with some of my close friends, and even though we were all running on about four hours of sleep, I made memories there that I would not trade for the world. The experience was great!

2012: The Year of Success
Can you believe it? It's already 2012. Wow, it feels like just yesterday I was seven years old, had no homework, no responsibilities...it was the "good life". And now, I look at myself today, at fifteen years old, and realize how much has changed since I was little. I now have homework, responsibilities, and even sometimes stress from friends and school. Despite all of these negatives, I still am thankful for how everything has worked out. I still have my mom, dad, and sister in my life, I have great friends, and everything seems to be fitting perfectly into the puzzle called life. The more that I think about it, though, this is now the good life.
Hopefully, 2012 will not be just an ordinary year. I hope that it will be the year that changes people's outlook on life. I hope that it will make everyone appreciate every moment of life so that they can cherish them to the fullest. Most importantly, I hope that 2012 will live up to everyone's visions and standards. So here's to everyone...I wish you all the best this year. Let's be anxious for every day that this year brings because, after all, 2012 will be the year of success.

That Time of Year
It's going to be a long week...even if it will be only four days. You want to know why? FINALS. Yes, I've heard my sister talk about them for a couple of years now, and since I'm a freshman, it'll be my first year experiencing them for myself. Gosh, I'm so excited...not. I know it's only tests that I'll be taking, but they take up a huge percentage of your grade. It's so stressful, especially since we have like two of them a day. Well, hopefully it'll all be worth it...unless I fail all of them...oh jeeze...
Over Already?
I know that we've all been in school for four days now, but I still can't believe that school is back in session. I can still remember that first Friday that we got off. My sister and I went to the basketball game, and all I could think about was the fact that we still had two weeks of sleeping-in ahead of us. It seems like we will go back to school for a week and then get another two weeks off...but no. Our break is long gone, and now the only long break left to look forward to is Spring Break....and then comes summer break! I better start counting down the days!
